Shaw Nature Reserve Art Fair Nov. 2-3, 2024

Its back!  The Shaw Nature Reserve Art Fair is this coming weekend, November 2nd and 3rdAdam Long Sculpture has several new artworks fresh from the studio (including the sculpture shown at left) and will be in the large Assembly Building.  This little art fair in the forest is beautiful, quaint, and fun.  After you have enjoyed the art, you can take an autumn color hike.  Food truck and live music should be available.  Here is all the show info:

Boutique show of St. Louis area artists at Shaw Nature Reserve. Featured artwork includes ceramic, wood and metal sculpture, painting, folk art, photography, jewelry, basketry, and more on display and available for purchase throughout the rustic cabins at the Dana Brown Overnight Center.

 The distance between the main entrance and the Dana Brown Overnight Center will take around 15 minutes providing gorgeous views of the fall landscape.

Creating With Nature Workshop in Kirkwood, MO

If you love collecting natural objects……Now is your chance to learn from Adam, a master of natural object sculpting!

You will learn how to think creatively about the natural objects you respond to. You will develop ways to assemble, use and preserve these items. Adam will teach you the skills to start finding your own creative voice responding to the natural world. Together we will strive to complete or nearly complete a unique sculpture all your own. Missouri Art Now coming to a close

The Missouri Art Now yearlong traveling exhibition has arrived at its final destination!  The Albrecht-Kemper Museum in St. Joseph has the exhibit on view Sept. 18-Nov. 7th .  My sculpture, Come What May, is featured.

Opening Reception, free to the public, Saturday, September 18 from 1-4pm

Free after hours events:    Tuesday, September 28 from 5-7pm    and    Tuesday, October 26 from 5-9pm.

 

The normal AKMA hours are:   Tuesday-Friday, 10am-4pm   Saturday-Sunday, 1pm-4pm

Drawing/Sketching Workshop in Garden of the Gods, CO

CREATING WITH NATURE  You’ve been collecting interesting objects from nature….now do something amazing with them.  In the Creating With Nature class you will learn how I think about creating with natural objects and the processes I use to preserve, strengthen and combine the amazing bits of nature I find.  I will provide many natural objects, for students to work from, but you are highly encouraged to bring the natural objects that you respond to.  I will help you develop YOUR vision and create YOUR own artwork!  This class is only offered about once a year so don’t miss this opportunity!

Missouri Art Now: 2021 Bicentennial Traveling Exhibition

Adam Long’s sculpture, Come What May, has been accepted into the Missouri Art Now traveling exhibition as part of the state’s bicentennial celebrations in 2021.  60 artworks by 60 artists from across the state were chosen to have their work shown at 5 venues. Follow Adam on Facebook for updates.
