9-2014 A big month!  Sculptures all over.  1) Washington University, St. Louis invited Adam Long to exhibit  in a solo exhibition located in the gallery on the second floor of the Farrell Teaching and Learning Center until the end of November.  2)  The Maves Gallery @ Greenville College, Greenville, IL invited Adam to exhibit.  His Interactions exhibition will open September 19th during the annual ArtWalk.  3)  Maryville University has invited Adam to exhibit a sculpture in its bi-annual Alumni Art Exhibit September 15th - October 11th, 2014.

6-14-13 Adam Long will be exhibiting with Janice Schoultz Mudd and Camden St. Claire in the Tavern of Fine Arts Summer Art Show Celebration in St. Louis, MO.  The exhibit runs June 4th-August 29th.  Opening reception June 14th 6pm-12:30am.

6-7-13 Adam Long has four sculptures in the Elements in Balance: Earth, Air, Fire, Water exhibition held at the Annmarie Sculpture Gardens and Art Center in Dowell, Maryland.  The exhibition runs through August 18th.  Opening reception June 7th, 6-9pm.

2-11-13  Three never before exhibited sculptures by Adam Long were just accepted into the EcoCreations4 exhibition in the Muse Gallery @ the Longmont Council for the Arts in Longmont, Colorado (just outside Denver).  The exhibition opens with a reception March 8th and runs through April 27th.  This makes 4 exhibitions that Adam Long's work is in during March, 2013.  Busy. Busy.

2-8-13 Three of Adam Long's sculptures have been accepted into the Spirit of the Muse exhibition held at the Mad Art Gallery in St. Louis, Missouri (2727 S. 12th St., St. Louis, MO 63118).  The opening reception is March 1st 7pm - midnight.

2-5-13 Adam Long will be exhibiting 2 new sculptures from his unusual String Theory Series in the Faculty Art Exhibition at the St. Charles Community College March 4th - April 5th, 2013 (Humanities Building 4601 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, Cottleville, MO 63376).  These sculptures are part of a new, incomplete series that isn't ready for a full exhibition, but you can get a sneak peak.  There is no reception for this one.

2-2-13 Textures and Topography a two artist exhibit featuring Adam Long and Mary Nasser at the Bonsack Gallery @ John Burroughs School, St. Louis.  You are invited to the opening reception February 15th 5:30-7:30pm.  The exhibit runs Feb. 15th - April 2nd.

1-5-13 Just back from the fun opening reception of my Connections exhibition at the Jasper Arts Center in Jasper, IN.  I did a Found Object Sculpture workshop with some high school students the next morning.  Great stuff.  Thanks to all who purchased artwork and came to the reception!  The exhibit runs through the month of January.

9-6-12 Adam Long placed 3rd (Spread Wings) and 6th (Foxtails in the Breeze) in the 2012 American Art Awards international online art competition in the Representational Sculpture category (#54).

8-10-12 Foxtails in the Breeze will be exhibited in the St. Louis Artists' Guild exhibition, Lay of the Land.  August 24-October 21st, 2012.  Opening reception Aug, 24th 6-9pm.

2-9-12 I just received word that my sculpture, Citius, Altius, Fortius, is a finalist in the U.S. Olympic Sports Art Competition 2012.  It won't go to London, but it is on display at the United States Sports Academy in Daphne, AL where they have a Sport Art Museum Gallery.

1-21-12 Thanks to everyone who braved the ice and came out to the 3rd Degree Glass Factory last night for my "Connections" exhibition!  The show ends Feb. 14th...Valentine's Day.

1-12-12 My submission to the 2012 Olympic Art Contest is completed and ready to be shipped to Alabama (see new photos in the "bronzes" portion of my Portfolio).  I set up my exhibition at 3rd Degree Glass on Delmar next week!

1-2-12 I've been busy!  The David Strawn Art Gallery exhibition went well and is now down.  I am gearing up for my exhibition at 3rd degree and I am creating a sculpture for submission to the 2012 Olympics.

11-7-11 This Friday 11-11-11 Adam Long will be exhibiting a new and very unusual sculpture (for him) in the St. Louis Artists' Guild exhibition: Sustainability and the Built Environment of the St. Louis Region.  The opening reception is 6-8pm.  I hope to see you there.

11-1-11 I delivered Technological Advances to the 9th St. Abby in Soulard this morning (see 10-8-11 entry below).  I hope you can buy a $25 ticket (for one..or $40 for a couple) to support this important organization and maybe bid on a great piece of art from the 50+ artworks donated.

10-18-11 My sculpture, Technological Advances, was featured in a St. Louis news broadcast this week.  KMOV (the local affiliate of CBS, Channel 4) interviewed The Covering House to whom the sculpture has been donated to raise money for their worthy cause.

10-4-11 Two upcoming exhibitions this Winter:  1) The David Strawn Art Gallery in Jacksonville, IL (just West of Springfield) December 3-22, 2011.  Opening reception Dec. 3rd 6-8pm with gallery talk at 6:30.  I will be exhibiting with metal sculptor Sherri Jaudes.  2) The St. Louis Artists' Guild's exhibition: Sustainability and the Built Environment of St. Louis will have one of my new installation sculptures on display.  Check it out- its cool.  Hope to see you at these exhibitions!

5-2-11 Thanks to all who came out this weekend to the Art Walk.  I was in a great space in the Main Street Chapel and had a lot of fun.  If you are in Wright City, MO or passing through on Hwy 70 check out the Natural Sculpture that the High School kids and I made in Diekroeger Park which can be seen and accessed from the south service road.  We had a lot of fun and I think the kids learned a bit about art and that it doesn't always have to "look like something" to be interesting art.  I'll get some pics of it up in the portfolio soon.

4-30-11 What a great opening night for the Art Walk.  Thanks to those who came out and especially to those who took some sculptures home with you!  I will be there for most of the weekend, but I am heading out now to Wright City to make some cool outdoor sculptures with the people at their Art Fair.

4-13-11 I have just updated and rearranged my Portfolio.  Also I am beginning work on a new set of sculptures dealing with Big Science.  They will be incredible.

4-7-11 I will be exhibiting in the St. Charles Art Walk at the end of this month: Friday evening April 29th through Sunday, May 1st in the afternoon.  I will have several new pieces for sale.  My work will be in the Main Street Chapel on 116 N. Main street.

11-26-10 Thanks to everyone who came to the opening of my exhibit in Chesterfield!  Also thanks to the SEMO Arts Council for allowing me the privilege of Judging and Jurying their Regional Exhibition this year (that show opens December 3rd in Cape Girardeau, MO).

11-3-10 Countenances, my exhibition of new works at Chesterfield Arts, is opening soon.  The opening reception is Friday, November 19th.  As the title of the show suggests the focus is on portraits and expression.

10-12-10 The Finding Nature exhibit reception was great.  Lots of fun and nice people came by.  If you haven't seen the show yet it will be up through Nov. 3rd.  While you are in town you can also go see the Walt Disney Museum in town...Marceline is Disney's boyhood home.  I went and was inspired.

10-7-10 My exhibition, Finding Nature, is being set up tomorrow in Marceline, MO. at the Northern Missouri Art Council.  Hope you can see it.  The reception is Saturday, October 9th 1-5pm. The show runs October 8th- November 3rd.

9-10-10 Friday, September 17th I will be in Greenville, IL for their 6th annual ArtWalk 5 to 11pm.  This will be my second year exhibiting in this great town.  One night only.  Coming up in less than a month I will also be exhibiting in Marceline, MO at the North Missouri Arts Council Gallery October 4th-30th.

6-5-10  What a great reception last night in Cape Girardeau.  I just uploaded some images taken last night in the "exhibition" section of my Portfolio.  There is a great arts community there.  I am honored to have been invited to exhibit there.  If you haven't seen the show it is up for a month.

6-3-10 My exhibition is installed at the SEMO Arts Council in Cape Girardea.  I t looks great with lots of new pieces (and a few older works that went well with the new ones).  I hope to see you at the opening tomorrow night!

5-26-10 I have been busy in the studio!  My exhibition in Cape Girardeau is less than 2 weeks away.  The opening reception is June 4th 5-9pm in the Lorimier Gallery of the Arts Council of Southeast Missouri.  Located at 32 N. Main Street, Cape Girardeau, Mo 63701.  The exhibition runs until June 30th.  I just uploaded some teaser images in the New Sculptures section of my portfolio. I hope to see you there.

4-11-10 I won the Juror's Choice Award in the "Second Chance" art exhibition at the Soulard Art Market! I have 3 pieces in the show that will be up for the duration of this month.

4-1-10 I was just accepted into the Soulard Art Market exhibition "Second Chance" at 2028 South 12th St. in downtown St. Louis at the corner of 12th and Russell.  The exhibition runs from Thursday April 9th- Sunday May 1st with the opening reception Friday, April 9th, 7-10pm.  I'll post more info when I know more.

3-23-10 This month is flying by.  I have several new pieces started for my exhibit in Cape Girardeau this June.  My exhibition at the Argonne Gallery comes down in less than 2 week.  Don't miss it!

3-6-10 What a great opening reception last night.  Thank you to all who came and supported my work and me and special thanks to those who will be taking sculptures home with them.  I had a lot of fun and I hope you did too.  The work is up until the first week of April so if you haven't seen it get to the Argonne Gallery and check it out.  My next exhibit is in June in Cape Girardeau, MO.   My next local St. Louis area exhibition will be at Chesterfield Arts, November 19th 2010 - January ? 2011.

2-10-2010 I've been busy in the studio!  Haven't updated in a while as I am getting work ready for my exhibition at the Argonne Gallery March 5th- April 5th with the opening reception on March 5th from 6-9pm.  Less than a month to go.  I have three pieces left to complete that should be finished in time.  I am also starting to plan my exhibition in June at the Arts Council of Southeast Missouri.  That show will be more about color.  And I am planning a series of portrait busts to be exhibited sometime in the future.  I will be uploading images of new work in the next week or two.  Check them out in my Portfolio.

11-11-09 Three sculptures have just been shipped to Marceline, MO (the boyhood home of Walt Disney) for their Annual Christmas Exhibition in the North Missouri Art Council's beautiful gallery.

9-23-09 The Maryville University Alumni exhibition is installed. The gallery directors put Mourning Moss in a very nice position in the gallery. I will put images up soon in the portfolio. The opening reception is Friday, September 25th, 2009. I won't be able to be there as I will be at the Art Walk in Greenville, Illinois.

9-9-09 I had to post on the "9" day. In two weeks I will be in Greenville, IL for Artwalk organized by Our Common Ground (see the Sept 25th post below). I'm finishing up several new pieces. Hope to see you there.

9-6-09 I judged the Queeny Park Art Festival this weekend! A long day and a lot of hard work, but very satisfying and I met many new artists with outstanding work. The show is put on annually by The Greater St. Louis Art Association. I am deeply honored to have been asked to decide on awards.

9-4-09 Many of my photographs are posted on Green Stock Media and are available for purchase for all your environmentally themed photo needs. I think this is a great concept and the content is very high quality.

8-12-09 Have you seen my photography? I have many digital images available for purchase at some online stock companies. They are good for your desktop, blog, website, e-mails, etc. or just to print at home and enjoy. Prices vary according to image size, but a high res image will cost about $10 at one and about $9 for 4 images at another. I hope you find something you can use. Here are the links: BigStockPhoto and CanStockPhoto There are different images at each and new ones being added all the time. Coming soon I will be putting images up at Green Stock Media, an environmental stock photography company....right up my alley.

8-1-09 I just installed a window display using my sculpture, In An Instant, for Hereford Andrew Design: Flowers in St. Louis. 2121 South Brentwood Blvd. 63144. Less than a mile from the Galleria. Inside there are several of my wall hangings available for purchase. The display looks great and his designs are incredible. If you need flowers you will certainly get something unique and gorgeous.
